iOS 6.1 Seeded to Developers, UnTethered 6.0.1 Jailbreak Information
iOS 6.1 Seeded to Developers, UnTethered 6.0.1 Evasi0n Jailbreak Information - Quickly following today’s public release of 6.0.1, Apple has seeded iOS 6.1 beta to developers. The new iOS 6.1 firmware simply offers a revised method for developers to integrate Apple’s mapping service into their apps, minor changes and revisions to Safari and improvements to how Passbook handles boarding passes.
As we reported last week, and similar to 6.0.1, Apple had begun the initial testing phase for 6.1, which has now advanced to the Developer testing stage.
Jailbreak 6.1 and 6.0.1 UnTethered status
As mentioned in our post from earlier today, which outlines the latest jailbreak information for 6.0.1, there isn’t a public UnTethered jailbreak utility. For now, the latest iOS 6 jailbreak remains the Tethered version of Redsnow for 6.0.
If the Dev Team decides to wait for iOS 6.1′s public release before pushing out an UnTethered jailbreak, it’s likely we won’t see a jailbreak for 6.0.1 (aside from the tethered A4-only Redsn0w jailbreak).
The latest information pertaining to the status of the UnTethered iOS 6 jailbreak was from planetbeing’s tweet regarding the successful addition of a kernel exploit to the team’s crude utility.
