Apple Seeds iOS 6.1 beta 3, Jailbreak Evasi0n Information - Today, three weeks (a total of 21 days) after seeding the second iOS 6.1 beta to developers, Apple has issued iOS 6.1 beta 3. While those who are currently on a previous 6.1 beta build can update via iOS’ built-in over-the-air update feature, the 6.1 beta 3 IPSW firmware file is also available for download through Apple’s developer portal.

While the previous beta firmware carried a build number of 10B5105c, the third 6.1 beta has been assigned 10B5117b - suggesting revisions, modifications and changes over its predecessor.

Like the first two variations of 6.1, the third beta provides developers with an app implementation method for Apple’s custom mapping service, improves Passbook’s airline boarding pass management system and brings several minor changes to Safari.

Unfortunately, as with the latest public firmware, iOS 6.0.1, there won’t be an UnTethered 6.1 jailbreak available for some time. As of now, the latest development in the jailbreak community for the new A5, A5X, A6 and A6X-powered iOS devices came when p0sixninja announced his solo effort to exploit the bootROM (more on that available here).

However, once the firmware is officially released to the public, users will be able to jailbreak by way of a Semi UnTethered method with Redsn0w on select devices; including the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the 4th Generation iPod touch.
