Jailbreak 9.0.2 Untethered Update, Apple Releases iOS 9.0.2, TaiG or Pangu Jailbreak? - Earlier this morning, exactly one week after the unexpected iOS 9.0.1 release, Apple issued iOS 9.0.2 to the general public, being the second minor installment to iOS 9 since its initial availability on September 16th. At this point, you’re undoubtedly curious as to whether we can jailbreak iOS 9.0.2. Unfortunately though, like the firmware’s predecessor, and every iOS release since 8.4.1, iOS 9.0.2 still utilizes Apple’s TaiG jailbreak-patching solution - i.e. we cannot jailbreak 9.0.2 using the current suite of jailbreak tools. As for the firmware itself, unlike the rather massive iOS 9.0 update, which introduced a plethora of new features (including added Siri functionality, deep searches, quicker app navigation, revised multitasking and much more), 9.0.2 is an incredibly minor release focused on addressing various complications introduced in iOS 9. For additional information on iOS 9.0.2 and how it affects jailbreaking, continue past the break.
Starting with the firmware itself, iOS 9.0.2 can be download via two methods: as an OTA (over-the-air) update in the Settings app or through iTunes.
However, considering the firmware makes use of the aforementioned iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak patch, those of you currently jailbroken on iOS 8.4 or earlier should avoid the update at all costs.
What’s New in iOS 9.0.2? Why did Apple issue the updated release though when another minor firmware was released a week ago (iOS 9.0.2)? Let’s take a look at iOS 9.0.2’s exact changes, taken directly from the OTA update segment of the Settings app:
- Fixes an issue with the setting to turn on or off app cellular data usage
- Resolves an issue that prevented iMessage activation for some users
- Resolves an issue where an iCloud backup could be interrupted after starting a manual backup
- Fixes an issue where the screen could incorrectly rotate when receiving notifications
- Improves the stability of Podcasts
Alright, so minor updates and general improvements are great, but since there hasn’t been a new jailbreak since TaiG issued a tool of the same name for iOS 8.3 and 8.4, what about the next Untethered utility?
While the answer to said question is practically identical to that of the corresponding question for iOS 9.0.1 (update here), we’re going to quickly summarize.
Essentially, both TaiG and Pangu inadvertently confirmed they’re working on new iOS 9 jailbreak utilities - likely separate from one another - although both have expressed willingness for collaboration in the past, neither appear to be working together at the moment.
TaiG previously stated that they had no intention of issuing another iOS 8 jailbreak and that they were focused on iOS 9 prior to the release of their tool for iOS 8.3 (ironic, right?). They were probably trying to throw us off the scent at the time, but either way they confirmed they’re working on new utilities.
Similarly, in recently publicizing 3 vulnerabilities that were exclusive to iOS 8.4.1, Pangu effectively confirmed that they’re too busy researching vulnerabilities and attempting to develop a new jailbreak for iOS 9 to focus their efforts on iOS 8.4.1.
For further information on the current state of jailbreak affairs, we highly recommend watching the video embedded above from popular YouTuber iCrackUriDevice as it highlights everything you need to know pertaining to iOS 9.0.2 and the next jailbreak.
Update 1: Ensuing the release of iOS 9.0.2, Apple closed the signing window for both iOS 9.0 and iOS 8.4.1, effectively making it impossible to downgrade from iOS 9 (or 9.0.2) to iOS 8.4.1. However, both TaiG and Pangu remain active and are diligently working on creating new tools for the future of iOS: 9.x. The above video highlights additional information on the topic - keep your browsers locked to Evasi0n Jailbreak for all updates.
Update 2: On October 12th, 2015, Apple seeded iOS 9.1 beta 5 to registered developers, as well as the corresponding public beta build to those enrolled in the company’s public beta program. With iOS 9.1 apparently right around the corner, after 5 beta iterations, jailbreak developers are undoubtedly targeting the firmware for a post iOS 9.0.2 jailbreak. We’ll have additional information as iOS 9.1’s release draws near.

I think we are all going about this in the wrong way. I am not a programer or anything but.. what if there were a way to replicate the” apple signing”? if we could do thAT, THEN WE COULD ALL DOWNGRADE OUR DEVICES TO A FIRMWARE THAT IS ALREADY JAILBREAKABLE . what do you guys think?
can i jail break ios 8.41

What the heck is iOS 9.0 jailbreak released cus I wait long enough now I want that lovely jailbreak release it taig or pangu come on I know u two very much so come on release it the jailbreak for iOS 9.0 if not then iOS suckssssssssssssssssss
They’re waiting until iOS 9.1 then they’ll release the jailbreak, which will be November
Oh Good but i have iOS 9.0 and every minute i got sms from iOS that I must update to iOS 9.1 so can u tell me do I update or wait or not
So have they actually hacked it? Or going to try to hack 9.1?
Yep they don’t want to show us I mean people
if they jailbroken iOS 8.4.1 in that hack conference thing then whyy cant they just release that jailbreak to use swell because the exploits are blocked on iOS 9
and then they can still carry on with iOS 9 because they already know how to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 and it won’t take them more then 1 or 2 days to set it up ad they could get half the team on that and the rest on iOS 9
Then when will they release
TaiG is waiting for iOS 9.1 official release so they share the Jailbreak.. If they share it now on 9.0.2 then Apple would patch the expoit found by TaiG to be able to Jailbreak 9.0.2 worth 1.3 Mil $ and then you will not have 9.1 Jailbreak.. As we all know 9.1 has alot of new features like emoji and speed.etc.. Why dont u wait a month or so and get the stable and good firmware 9.1 jailbroken instead of hurrying for 9.0.2 and later missing the 9.1 Jailbreak.. !! Even If now TaiG share 9.0.2 Jailbreak due to peoples consernt.. Then when 9.1 releases.. People will again blame TaiG for not releasing 9.1 Jailbreak which will be harder then.. P.S : Jailbreaking and Finding Expoit flaws is not easy.. So please wait for iOS 9.1 release…
No i have update my iPhone 5s iOS 9.0 to 9.1 so that mean hack bean successful but where may I get that jailbreak that why 😉
hihi T?n ??t Hu?nh
Before update i had 3 gb free when updated to 9.0.1 it has 600 Mb free that makes me I updated to latest 9.0.2 i had 800 Mb I had to restore as a new device and now have 4.6 Gb When the j/b is releasing ?!!!!!!!!
How did u get so much space? I would assume after restoring you would still have similar storage left? i.e - if didn’t delete any apps & stuff??
I just restore as a new
Win or Mac ?
Me-Gel Tour-Rez join ussssssss
Its is working
Apple sucks they shouldn’t even be having problems with the iOS versions that’s slack
Lets see you making it better
I shouldn’t have to make it better for them lol it’s their job If they wanna make iOS better then they should do it right.
??
Is a jailbreak for iOS 9.0.2 out?
iOS 9 has completely ruined my device. I have a 6plus and there’s so many bugs it’s not even funny. It’s going slow that everything is being affected by it. It’s driving me insane. God I hope this fixes the issues
I feel ya
I knew I should have waited longer. I usually do. Well actually the 6plus is the first iPhone I’ve had that I’ve not jailbroken. Sometimes I swear apple makes the new OS suck so bad just to get u to go by the new model. Because no lie the same thing happened to me with my 5S. As soon as 8 came out it started working horribly. The six plus should work perfectly on iOS 9.
I have the 6s plus on iOS 9 and it’s fine as fu*k
LOL. U just had to be that guy didn’t you.
Just call Apple and tell them then. Or go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html Posting it on here won’t help
Just downgrade it to 8.4.1 ASAP
