iOS 8.4 Jailbreak from TaiG? Plus Jailbreak 8.3 TaiG 2.1.3 Update - Yesterday, following the exciting release of last week’s initial TaiG iOS 8.3 jailbreak, and the subsequent TaiG 2.1.2 update to address users who were getting stuck at 60% and adding support for Substrate Cydia Tweaks, TaiG issued version 2.1.3 of their untethered jailbreak utility. Like its two processors, TaiG 2.1.3 is capable of jailbreaking iOS 8.3 on all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models, including the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. However, with iOS 8.4 right around the corner (literally, we’re less than 24 hours away from its public release), will the jailbreak include support for Apple’s newest firmware - i.e. will TaiG be able to jailbreak iOS 8.4 Untethered as well as iOS 8.3? TaiG 2.1.3 and iOS 8.4 Jailbreak?
Starting with TaiG 2.1.3, for new users who have yet to jailbreak, follow our in-depth Untethered jailbreak 8.3 tutorial, which has been updated to include download links for the latest tool.
Update TaiG to 2.1.3 for Jailbroken Users
As for users who have already jailbroken, you needn’t re-jailbreak with TaiG, simply follow the steps below to ensure that your jailbreak is as stable as possible by utilizing the latest TaiG Untether package.
1. Launch Cydia and let it reload data (this process should be done automatically).
2. Conditional: if Cydia doesn’t fetch available updates, navigate to the changes tab and tap ‘Refresh’.
3. Install the available TaiG 8.1.3-8.x Untether package.
Note: If you don’t see an update in the form of the aforementioned package, you’re good to go and your device is utilizing the latest update from the TaiG jailbreak team.
Moving on to iOS 8.4, which is merely intended to revamp the default Music app and add support for the Apple Music service, which is launching tomorrow (June 30th, 2015) along with the firmware.
iOS 8.4’s Release Date
As mentioned in the above video from popular YouTuber iCrackUriDevice, the firmware was confirmed to be released at 8:00 AM Pacific Time by former Beats Music CEO and current Apple Music director Ian Rogers.
So now that we’re aware of 8.4’s impending release in less than a day, should jailbreakers be worried? Yes and no - essentially, it’s too early to definitively state one way or another. Having said that, it’s highly unlikely that if patched Apple will close more than a couple vulnerabilities, which could (hypothetically speaking) be replaced by TaiG in an update.
Jailbreak iOS 8.4 and Updates
However, what’s more likely is that Apple will leave the jailbreak unpatched in iOS 8.4, as the company did with both 7.1.2 and 8.1.2 for the original iOS 7.1.1 Pangu jailbreak and the first TaiG iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak, respectively. That being said, while the chance of the previously detailed scenario coming to pass is extremely high, don’t get your hopes up as this remains speculation until we receive official word from TaiG themselves.
Should I Update to 8.4?
Either way, definitely avoid iOS 8.4 if you value your jailbreak until TaiG makes an announcement concerning a potential update for their utility. Keep your browsers firmly locked to Evasi0n Jailbreak for further details pertaining to the next major firmware and whether it will be jailbroken.

Actually 8.3 was finally!! Now they got it all down jailbreak after jailbreak! F Yea!!
Another update issue to watch for. Bookshelf deleted all the stuff I had, none commercial, almost all medical and law papers. Fortunately before updating from JB 6 to 8 I did a full Rsync, so I have the files, even if under a useless file name. Apple seems to not care that it deletes your data. The slimed OS did it again when recovering into not jail broken 8.4. Be warned.
I’m going to wait. I broke into 8.3 so my iPad could access FieldTest. Then I used CP for back up of just one plist file. No. I didn’t change anything. Just made a save copy. iPad? Almost bricked. I had no access to settings, the icon display was borked. I’m furious that Apple does not make available to me a tool I frequently use which tool is easy to get to on an IPhone. Fuming. I had a bad night. I suspect Apple left land mines in IOS. Now what? PS the only way out was to reset to factory settings and it is now 8.4 against my will. Nasty.

so I got the 2.1.2 jb installed on my iPad Air and everything appears to be working fine EXCEPT… I am not able to download updates from the AppStore and when I just tried to do the upgrade to the 2.1.3 update for Taig, Cydia tells me: “I wasnt able to locate file for the taigunthether83x package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.†help please, and thanks in advance

Anyone else unable to downgrade their iTunes to 32bit? Jailbreaking will not work through 64bit. Need help. Haven’t been happy with my iPhone 6 without jailbreak.
With the new update you don’t have to downgrade anymore!

I do not want Taig to jailbreak 8.4. I want another group to do it. The Taig jailbreak is the worst experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been jailbreaking since iPhone 3G. The previous jailbreaks were not perfect, but they were quality and well done. The Taig jailbreak is extremely buggy and very frustrating. I’ve rooted androids and iPhones and the Taig is the worst experience I’ve ever. It feels very rushed and unprofessional.
