iOS 8.4 Beta 2 Released, New Jailbreak iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.4 Tool More Likely? - Today, swiftly following last Friday’s official release of the all-new Apple Watch, the company seeded the second beta iteration of iOS 8.4 to those enrolled in the official iOS developer program for the purpose of testing the next substantial iOS 8 update prior to its inevitable public release. The new iOS 8.4 beta 2 seed comes a mere two weeks following its predecessor’s release, with Apple having redirected their attention last week to the new Watch and its launch. Today’s beta carries a slightly revised build number of 12H4086d, versus the 12H4074d build number of 8.4 beta 1, suggesting only extremely minor revisions. As with all beta releases, today’s 8.4 beta 2 seed can be downloaded via Apple’s dedicated iOS Developer portal or as an OTA (over-the-air) update for those with iOS-based devices running the first 8.4 beta. With the current TaiG jailbreak having been patched by Apple with the release of iOS 8.1.3 some months ago, except for the updated tool to function on 8.2 betas 1 and 2 (both were issued prior to 8.1.3, and therefore didn’t include the aforementioned patch), those desperately seeking a new jailbreak are undoubtedly wondering whether there will be a new iOS 8.4 jailbreak upon the firmware’s public release or instead a jailbreak for 8.3, the current public firmware. Information surrounding today’s new release, as well as the next jailbreak utility, whether it’s intended for iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.4, can be found after the jump.
Quickly discussing iOS 8.4 as an update first, as with the beta release’s predecessor, the firmware offers little in the way of improvements and additional features over iOS 8.3.
Simply revamping the Music app and addressing a number of minor bugs where said app is concerned, iOS 8.4 betas 1 and 2 pale in comparison to this month’s earlier iOS 8.3 public release, which added new emoji options, an improved selection method for emojis, wireless CarPlay connectivity, corrected an annoying Safari keyboard spacebar complication and several other small desired features, not to mention a plethora of bug fixes.
Having said that, like with the iOS 8.3 beta releases, it’s possible that new features may be rolled into subsequent iOS 8.4 beta versions, though that isn’t the case with the second beta iteration of iOS 8.4. In light of the latter part of that sentence, once could rightly assume that the jump from any previous iOS 8 firmware wouldn’t really be justified (unless you’re a heavy user of the default Music app), especially for those currently jailbroken by way of TaiG on 8.1.2 or lower, or even one of the first two iOS 8.2 betas.
So, what about jailbreaking? With both iOS 8.3 and the Apple Watch now publicly available, both TaiG and Pangu, the two teams who have confirmed that they’re actively working on creating new jailbreak tools, have everything they require to fully support the latest software and hardware releases. But, due to the absence of a jailbreak for iOS 8.3, is it possible that the hackers will opt to once again wait to jailbreak iOS 8.4?
While the answer is a rather disappointing “yes”, it’s also very likely that either group could decide that the time for a new jailbreak is neigh, seeing as iOS 8.4 (the next pubic iOS 8.x release) simply addresses the Music app, and release a new tool in the coming days. As of now, anyone who makes claims suggesting that a jailbreak either will or won’t be released for a specific firmware is simply making said claims based on speculation.
Unless TaiG or Pangu officially announce additional details, the best thing jailbreakers can do is to exercise patience - we will receive a new jailbreak, it’s simply a matter of time and the jailbreak groups typically avoid ETAs, as they often do nothing more than cause disarray and hate amongst impatience jailbreakers.

Is there a way to get an email once the iOS 8.3 or higher jailbreak has come out? I don’t want to check the evasi0njailbreak threads everyday to look if there is one… I know there is a thing called IFTTT, but I don’t know any recipes that will allow this to happen.

I know apple has found a way to beat jailbreak and that’s to constantly release updates, let’s face it when taig or pangu start jailbreaking 8.4, 8.5 will be announced knowing that they will find the exploit and fix it they will wait, then 8.6 so on and so forth i think jailbreaking is done now unfortunately i hope not because i want to jailbreak my ipad but my hopes is not that high.

They will just release another update nullifying the jailbreak because even if taig or pangu attempt to make a jailbreak for ios 8.4 there will an update already in the make and they will make the same excuse that apple will know the exploit and fix it in the newest update.I will say this tho GLORIOUS PC MASTER RACE IPAD AND SMARTPHONE PEASANTS.

Supporting the statement made by Scott Plummer, there tends to be a number of people claiming that they have a jail break for the iPhone 6 Plus on version 8.3, but when you go looking for it, you are taken down a dead end street. I do know, and appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into jail breaking these versions, but does Apple have these master mind jail breaker’s scratching their heads, and possibly the end for jail breaking?
I have a feeling that Apple has won the jailbreak war. If anyone wants a jailbreak droid may be the only platform left.

This is stupid. Nobody wants to wait for an iOS 8.4 jailbreak. Everyone has already been waiting too long and iOS 9 is really close. Heh, good point. But I doubt it. If they wait too long, the exploit they were working on for two versions may be patched before they get to finish the jailbreak, so speed is important for them. It takes a long time, but I’m sure they’re trying to be as quick as possible, so Apple doesn’t release new patches. I wish ’em good luck/
