Apple iOS 8.4 Beta, iOS 8.3 Jailbreak or 8.4 Jailbreak, Which Will TaiG Conquer? - Today, fresh on the heels of iOS 8.3’s public release last week, Apple seeded the first beta iteration of iOS 8.4 to registered developers for sole purpose of testing what is now confirmed to be the next significant iOS 8 update, excluding any potential 8.3.x releases. While the public still eagerly awaits a new iOS 8.3 jailbreak for all devices, Apple appears to be expediting the speed at which the company releases new iOS updates. Today’s latest beta carries a build number of 12H4074d and is available for exclusive download via Apple’s dedicated iOS Developer Portal - seeing as this is the first beta of its kind, there’s clearly no OTA (over-the-air) update option. With Apple having now inadvertently confirmed that iOS 8 will reach as high as 8.4, a question that’s likely on a number of jailbreakers’ minds is whether the jailbreak developers will once again decide to wait for iOS 8.4 before releasing a new jailbreak or instead hastily finish what they’ve been working on and release the jailbreak for 8.3. Details and an analysis exploring said question concerning the logistics of a new jailbreak, as well as iOS 8.4 itself, can be found after the break!
Apple Releases 8.4 Beta 1 - TaiG To Jailbreak 8.4 Untethered Or 8.3?
First up, iOS 8.4, according to the firmware’s official changelog, doesn’t appear to offer much in the way of improvements and revisions over it’s predecessor.
By contrast, while last week’s iOS 8.3 public release implemented new emoji, a fix for the annoying Safari spacebar issue, a revised emoji selection method, Wireless CarPlay support and several other somewhat interesting tidbits, iOS 8.4 appears to be purely focused on offering a revamped Music app.
iOS 8.3 vs. iOS 8.4 Changes
Although new features will likely be added to iOS 8.4 as new beta iterations succeed today’s release, as they were with iOS 8.3, the changes thus far are (mostly) trivial at best and certainly wouldn’t justify the loss of one’s jailbreak by hypothetically updating to 8.4. Additionally, several bug fixes strictly pertaining to the music app can be found in iOS 8.4, but for those of you who utilize alternative services (e.g. Spotify), today’s update will likely be unappealing as is without any additional features.
iOS 8.3 Jailbreak Or iOS 8.4 Jailbreak?
As far as jailbreaking is concerned, given the fact that TaiG has been diligently working on a new solution to jailbreak iOS 8.3, it’s currently unclear whether the group will once again opt to wait for iOS 8.4’s release. However, several factors may, like with Apple, expedite the speed at which the next jailbreak is both finalized and released.
First and foremost, seeing as iOS 8.3 was just released and 8.4 doesn’t offer any drastic or critical changes, the firmware will likely go through a number of beta versions prior to its inevitable public release. In other words, it could be some time before iOS 8.4 is available to the masses and now would be an ideal time for another jailbreak utility.
Additionally, as we covered recently, Pangu has once again re-entered the jailbreak development arena and is confirmed to be testing new exploits the team reportedly has saved. At this point, we have both TaiG and Pangu working on a new jailbreak and, hopefully, that will result in a quicker product, being a new jailbreak for 8.3.

IOS 8.2 & 8.3 was on its way so we should wait, now 8.3 is here and 8.4 is on its way thinking we should wait, but when 8.4 gets here there will be another version on it’s way So I just don’t get the reason for waiting.

The official iOS 8.4 firmware was said to be released to the public sometime near june (Not sure if that’s 100% accurate) I’m running iOS 8.4 beta 1 and there’s nothing new but a brand new UI to the stock music app, and they changed the location of audiobooks from the music app to the iBooks app where they belong.
Taig is way better faster and easier to use !

So, when there was 8.1.3 we should wait for 8.2. Then for 8.3. Now for 8.4. In the meantime this site and the youtube channel of that guy (uridevice or whatever) are getting thousands of views and relative profits for completely useless posts and explanations. Please just stop lying, it’s clear that you’re taking advantages of this situation. Can’t find a way to jailbreak? Don’t post anything until you find it. You would be more credible.
If say 8.4 was the last IPSW for version 8 I’d go for that, all areas should be covered & maybe even the apple watch itself included to support a more stable jailbreak. If you look closely you’ll notice on previous iOS versions you’ll be updated to the last known IPSW file that supports your iOS, sadly I’ve also discovered though iTunes 12 & above breaks the limera1n exploit, hopefully tiny umbrella comes back with a downgrade to support your saved SHSH blobs? My thoughts, experience & assessment on the current situation of things!

Apple can release as many iOS updates as they want to, however, that won’t stop the jailbreak community! The exploits which were found in iOS 8.2 by TaiG team have yet to be released, and the same exploits can very well still be evident in iOS 8.4, as Apple has little to no way of knowing which exploits have been exposed by TaiG. Exploiting iOS is much harder than you people think, it takes time. We should be thankful for the TaiG team, as they have created the most frequent jailbreaks that we’ve seen in a long time. Be patient, a jailbreak solution is coming soon!

Nope, Apple patched exploits from the original TaiG jailbreak that they left unattended in iOS 8.1.3 (the firmware that mostly patched TaiG) - 8.3 has nothing to do with new exploits.

The exploits that were patched were ones that Apple left unattended in iOS 8.1.3 from the original TaiG jailbreak - nothing new.

It’s pointless to wait for the 8.4 update. So many people have been waiting since 8.1.3 while Apple is patching all the exploits the jailbreakers worked hard to find. They had exploits for 8.2 and then they were patched with 8.3. Now jailbreakers have to spend more time working on a utility and finding new exploits. If they wait till 8.4 comes out Apple may patch the exploits that were found in 8.3 and they would probably start back at square one and spend more time trying to find new exploits. If they just release a utility for 8.3 as soon as possible they can start working on iOS 9 which will probably be coming soon after 8.4.

go to ipsw.me you can download all ipsws there for any device. Green means they ar currently being signed. Red meaning they are no longer being signed by Apple. This is controlled through iTunes.
Basically, except it’s controlled from Apple’s remote servers, else you could trick it into thinking another firmware was still being signed… Plus, there are quite a few security checks on Apple’s end and methods for authenticating a device and eligible firmwares.

You can’t legally download it… However, if you did some digging, you’d surely come across the correct beta IPSW (the ipsw.me site doesn’t contain beta releases). From there, copy and past the following URL into your browser of choice and use that method to restore to it (Apple normally uses a device’s UDID to verify if it’s eligible for a beta restore, but we can get around that): http://www.evasi0njailbreak.com/install-ios-8-beta-5-free-without-udid-downgrade-7.1.2-jailbreak/
