Pangu Jailbreaks iOS 8.4.1 Untethered at HackPwn 2015 - Last week, Apple released iOS 8.4.1 to the public, effectively patching the latest TaiG Untethered iOS 8.4 jailbreak utility. However, unlike iOS 8.1.3 (being the last jailbreak-patching firmware), iOS 8.4.1’s impact on jailbreaking extends far beyond the latest jailbreak. When Apple issued 8.4.1 the company did so with security at the forefront of their intentions - e.g. iOS 8.4.1 closed not only vulnerabilities exploited by TaiG for 8.4, but also several utilized by former Pangu and evasi0n jailbreak tools that the company left unattended until now. In other words, iOS 8.4.1 was, and is, a massive threat to jailbreakers. However, earlier today Pangu (the group behind both the iOS 7.1.x and iOS 8.1 jailbreak utilities by the same name) demonstrated that the group has achieved a new untethered jailbreak on iOS 8.4.1 just over a week after the devastating firmware’s release at the 2015 HackPwn security conference. Pangu Achieves iOS 8.4.1 Jailbreak
News of Pangu’s presentation was posted early this morning on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site; the finer details of the event are scarce.

However, we can say definitely that during Pangu’s presentation the group demonstrated they could successfully jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 on an iPhone 6! Having said that, before you get your hopes up, Pangu confirmed that the 8.4.1 jailbreak presentation was just that, a presentation.
Apparently Pangu has no plans to publicly release an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak, or likely a utility, before iOS 9. But, keep in mind that’s exactly what TaiG said before they released their iOS 8.3 jailbreak, which was later adapted to function on iOS 8.4.

It’s certainly plausible, to say the least, that Pangu has exploits that simply don’t function on iOS 9, due to the upcoming firmware’s “Rootless” security improvements (keep in mind rootless doesn’t translate to non-jailbreakable, it’s simply an internal name for Apple’s iOS 9 security efforts). Good, they shouldn’t release a jailbreak for iOS 8.4.1, at lease not yet because if even one of the few exploits could work on iOS 9.X then Apple should not know about it and if not then after iOS 9 is out they can release it with clean conscious.

I believe you can if you download the iOS 8.4 (not 8.4.1) .ipsw for your exact iPhone model, and you can still have your jailbreak, I’m not sure since I have iOS 9 beta
You can only upgrade to an IPSW that’s sill signed by Apple. You can’t have a jailbreak on your phone and update, you would have to restore to the IPSW you want and rejaikbreak. iCloud will save your sources if you backup through ICloud. Remember to not touch your phone while it’s restoring from backup or it will quit restoring.
