Jailbreak iOS 8.4 and iOS 8.3: Where is it? Release Date After iOS 9 Reveal? - With each passing day, Apple’s annual WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) draws closer and without a new jailbreak utility for iOS 8.3, the jailbreak community has one burning question in mind: “when will we receive a new jailbreak?” While the question is rightly just, TaiG and Pangu’s decision to wait to issue a new jailbreak utility makes sense from a logical standpoint. Quickly summarizing and reiterating the current jailbreak situation, following Apple’s patch of the Pangu8 jailbreak utility for iOS 8.0 through 8.1 with the release of iOS 8.1.1, TaiG swooped in to save the day and issued a brand new tool dubbed TaiGJBreak that functioned on iOS 8.0 through 8.1.1 and, later, iOS 8.1.2 (once Apple released it and failed to close the jailbreak). However, while Apple allowed the TaiG jailbreak 8.1.2 utility to remain unpatched for several months, the company eventually patched the last public untethered jailbreak with the release of iOS 8.1.3 in January. Catching up with current times, over the past five months or so Apple has issued both iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3, as well as numerous iOS 8.4 betas, which is slated for a release at an unknown time in the Spring of 2015. For those of you familiar with Apple’s typical schedule, WWDC always plays host to the unveiling of the next major iOS release (in 2015’s case, iOS 9) - in other words, is it possible that TaiG and Pangu’s work is already outdated and, if so, what’s the point of issuing an iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.4 jailbreak? For additional information on what to expect moving forward, continue reading.
In addition to the aforementioned question those new to the jailbreak scene are likely wondering if this is the longest we’ve gone without a jailbreak since a firmware release that patches the previous untethered utility (in this case iOS 8.1.3’s January release). To answer bluntly, no, it’s not.
Briefly elaborating on the topic, for those veteran jailbreakers (those who have been a part of the community since at least iOS 6), you’ll recall the long dry period of September’s iOS 6 release until February’s release of the original evasi0n jailbreak utility from the evad3rs. In other words, today’s current jailbreak situation is extraordinarily reminiscent of 2012 - 2013’s iOS 6 jailbreak waiting period, save the fact that we didn’t have to wait until February, 2015 for the first iOS 8 jailbreak, which was instead released a mere one month following iOS 8’s initial public rollout.
So what’re we waiting for now? That’s a great question, essentially the two major groups who are currently active on the jailbreak scene, again being Pangu and TaiG, are strategically awaiting iOS 8.4’s public appearance prior to issuing a new jailbreak.
Looking back to last year, Pangu jailbroke iOS 7.1.1 following the patch of evasi0n7 with Apple’s iOS 7.1 release. From there, Apple issued iOS 7.1.2, only they didn’t close the Pangu jailbreak tool until iOS 8’s release last September, meaning the latest public firmware at the time (iOS 7.1.2) went fully jailbreakable from June until September when the jailbreak was patched by iOS 8.0, which replaced 7.1.2 as the latest firmware.
Essentially, TaiG and/or Pangu are hoping for that very scenario once again and are counting on 8.4 being the iOS 8 equivalent to iOS 7’s 7.1.x.
Although Apple could easily patch a new jailbreak 8.4 utility with a subsequent iOS 8.4.x release, e.g. 8.4.1 or 8.4.2, it’s honestly a gamble either way. That being said, if a jailbreak for 8.3 were issued today, Apple would certainly patch said jailbreak once the company releases 8.4 to the masses. What makes more sense, releasing a jailbreak that you know will be patched in approximately a month or less or waiting a month or less for iOS 8.4 prior to releasing a jailbreak that could go unpatched until iOS 9’s inevitable fall rollout?
While the previous question was intended to be redundant, as the answer is blatantly obvious, the true question we’re currently faced with is one pertaining to iOS 8.4’s public release date.
If the next Untethered jailbreak is heavily contingent upon the iOS 8.4 update, when will it be released? That’s a simple question with an equally simple answer: soon. Due to WWDC, Apple’s been busy preparing iOS 9 to both unveil it to the world and issue the first developer beta on June 8th, 2015. Seeing as WWDC will take place incredibly soon we have one of two possible scenarios for 8.4’s release: either directly preceding the conference or shortly thereafter, once the dust has settled.
From there, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long it will take the jailbreak developers, but looking at TaiG for iOS 8.1.1, the utility was made available approximately two weeks ensuing the firmware’s release.

That’s good news! i0n1c is our savior!

http://i0n1c.com/iphone/ Jb here soon
Honestly, jb is just a means for free development….think on it seriously…everyone jb-ing with perfectly functioning devices and they are in a hurry to get next months trends while putting your devices possibly at risk if you are not extremely careful in some cases. In turn you are testing the goods for development and at no charge….all the while thinking you are ahead of the curve and anyone not jb-ing may just not be clever enough or electronically as savvy as oneself. All names aside lets just say I am into the jb community heavily and please hear these words and understand there is a reason every year is the same old story…. and every year it’s a new name for each OS … there is just a team chosen as the front and our “great mysterious lord” (‘jay /saurik freeman’) is a great model consistent public face for the environment….which is he does very well I might ad. He is a ‘clever’ individual. It took me years to completely see the truth. I am hoping to help others just truly understand the cycle so we stop the frustrations people are constantly posting and stressing out over. I just want to help, and some people need to know how deep the pool is before they dive in. Have a nice day and I mean in no way any disrespect….after all the world must turn for us to keep breathing. Take care.
I couldn’t have put it better myself. *Applauding* Its frustrating enough as it is but with everyone ranting about how they hate Apple and Tiag this Pangu that, It just adds to the amounting pool of frustration. In due time shall the Jailbreak be released and just think with the next jb comes the next iOS. Soon…
! personally appreciate all that these JB teams are doing for the JB community and I further appreciate that these people provide their services and product for free. But if I were to put my finger on the pulse of what is causing frustration in the community; it’s not that people don’t appreciate the updates - they do! But hearing the same old rhetoric of we’re waiting for 8.3 well maybe 8.4, definitely after 9.0; the redundant news of releases being postponed begins to wear on even the most loyal. What I think most people would be more appreciative of is being updated with more substantive information rather than cyclical updates of we’re waiting for the next release.

Quick question I have an iPad mini 2 on iOS 8.1.2 has this been patched by iTunes as every utility is failing saying get the latest version of iTunes. A lot of people having this issue? Any info on this?
I’ve been jailbreaking for some years now and evasion has been really close to my heart so kudos guys! Having said that, need a lil piece of advice. Changed to new phone and currently on iOS 8.1.3. Should I upgrade to 8.3? Cos I’m not sure right now if there will be a jb tool for that anytime in the future. Or should I just keep my current ios and wait for a certain jb tool for a certain iOS version? Thanks heaps guys!
Thank you,for update i can wait until the new jailbreak come out iphone and watched thanks again.
How long to jailbreak ios 8.3 can he
Hate to say it but apple has been keeping the jail breaks at bay by releasing betas right after they release an update. They keep doing this to threaten a patch to be released. And anyone cracking a beta is only giving apple a preview of what needs to be cracked. Waiting out apple is the only solution.
JB should be released right after 8.4 release, that way those of us who have waited to purchase the iWatch can finally go buy one and still enjoy the JB features on our iOS devices… still @ JB 8.1.2 and will not update until JB for 8.3 or 8.4 is release, then I will also get my iWatch!
I didn’t understand the article a little. Is the jailbreak ready to be released or does it still needs repairing??..AND. What is WWDC? Is it a big day for Apple? or a very big day for people who wants JB? Will TaiG release the jailbreak on WWDC? What ios version will they jailbreak? Will they succeed in JAILBREAKING? Hope they succeed and hope the JB will come soooooon!..Looking forward for your reply and response.
I’ve been jb my life, but I know how hard you guys are working! Keep it up Evasion!

Why can’t saurik just make Cydia available to download through his website, like the iEmuStop? And wtf is Pangu doing, relaxing all these ‘semi-jailbreaks’ ?
