Jailbreak iOS 8.3 After iOS 8.4’s Release Date, Plus New 0day Jailbreak 8.4 Exploit? - With Apple’s annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC for short) rapidly approaching, a number of questions are undoubtedly surging through jailbreakers’ minds as each day passes without a new solution to jailbreak iOS 8.3, the current public firmware. However, as we’ve outlined a number of times throughout our articles, iOS 8.3 won’t necessarily be the target of the next jailbreak utility, instead it will be jailbroken by extension with the release of a new tool capable of jailbreaking iOS 8.4 (the successor to iOS 8.3). Having grasped that concept, when will iOS 8.4 make its grand appearance in the form of a public release? That’s a great question - with the latest iOS 8.4 beta firmware (being 8.4 beta 3) having been seeded to developers over three weeks ago on May 11th, 2015, we won’t receive another beta iteration of the firmware prior to it’s inevitable release. Today, let’s ponder said release and delve into possible iOS 8.4 release dates so that we’ll have a better understanding of when a new jailbreak utility for iOS 8.4 will be issued that will also be capable of jailbreaking iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 and 8.3: the three firmwares that have included Apple’s TaiG jailbreak-patching remedy. Also, there’s a slight possibility that a new vulnerability was discovered that’s capable of being exploited for the intent of implementation into a jailbreak 8.4 utility (though the chances may be slim considering it’s source). iOS 8.4 & Jailbreak Release Dates
To preface, it’s important to understand that the next jailbreak is heavily contingent upon iOS 8.4, as the firmware will be the last substantial iOS 8 update, excluding any potential 8.4.x releases (e.g. iOS 8.4.1 or 8.4.2), prior to iOS 9’s public availability this fall.
When Will iOS 8.4 Be Available?
Starting with iOS 8.4’s release date, initially we suspected that the firmware would be released to the masses following WWDC and that Apple’s focus was heavily set on the conference and prepping iOS 9 for release to developers on June 8th, 2015.
However, in light of the recently uncovered banner notifications vulnerability that causes a crash on a system-wide level (unfortunately though, it cannot be implemented into a jailbreak), said release date may have been expedited. While the idea of a potential iOS 8.3.1 release was likely tossed around, Apple ultimately opted to bake their fix directly into iOS 8.4, thus spurring theories that 8.4 would be rushed to remedy the annoying complication, which anyone can trigger simply by sending a text message.
Unfortunately though, unless iOS 8.4 is released this Friday, June 5th, which it may very well be unless Apple engineers are too preoccupied with iOS 9 beta 1, the firmware won’t see the light of day until after the conference this coming Monday. Whichever way you look at it though, it’s safe to say that iOS 8.4 is expected within the next week, two weeks (if additional testing is required on Apple’s part).
TaiG Or Pangu Jailbreak After iOS 8.4
As for readying what TaiG and Pangu have had in development for iOS 8.4 and issuing the next jailbreak, looking back to iOS 8.1.1, it took TaiG approximately two weeks to release their jailbreak for the firmware - expect a similar timeframe for iOS 8.4. Also, it’s paramount to mention that while both teams are still confirmed to be actively creating new jailbreak tools, either (or both) could still opt to wait; though the chances are slim, they do still exist and, as is the way of life, unexpected obstacles could unquestionably present themselves.
0day Jailbreak 8.4 Beta 3 Exploit?
Moving beyond that bleak, albeit very slim, possibility, a twitter user posted the following message on twitter.

Stating that he may have uncovered a vulnerability for jailbreak exploitation in iOS 8.4 beta 2, leader of the quondam world renowned Chronic Dev Team p0sixninja replied stating that it “looks like 0day (previously undisclosed exploits that are released before the publication of the vulnerability that led to said exploit) to me”, to which pod2g jokingly responded “maybe -1day ;-)”.

Without analyzing it too much, while it’s highly unlikely that this could mean anything substantial to the jailbreak community, the possibility does exist and it’s exciting to say the least.

There is always been a jailbreak. Just wait for it. But this time there has been slight changes in the exploiting new ios versions. my iphones wifi is greyed out and i see no solution to it. i wonder if there might be any fix for it in cydia
I really appreciate the continual updates regarding jailbreaks and their ETA. I’ve been reading your articles since March, after I foolishly updated to 8.2 to resolve a problem. The comment I have is not surrounding jailbreaks but rather your writing. While I do see improvement in vocabulary and certain writing aspects, I highly recommend a reread over your work. Though it’s not errors like typos, there are many grammatical errors and inappropriate idiom uses. Again, I would like to reinforce that I really do enjoy the work you’ve put in to update, but some improvement needs be had in your writing. It is true that you use a variety of vocabulary and grammatical structures, however for many of the non-english speakers that frequent your articles, it would be better to promote sophistication rather than flat out thesaurus “explosion”. Thank you for your work, and I do not see this deterring me from continuing to read your news, but an improvement to your writing is definitely required especially for a news based website such as this.

I think I am going to upgrade to ios 8.4 because of the message that reboot the iPhone. There is, yes. Some IMEI unlock services will work (be careful though, some are scams) - all of them cost money though.
Isn’t there like a free way to do it? If not, do you suggest any website that does it?

Restore. Download the clean IPSW, and shift + restore. No other way, so back it up. Jailbreak will be gone though.

Agreed, unfortunately devs can’t monetize it really - we may get a jailbreak once Apple opens up the SDK and allows third-party apps.
If everyone wants a jailbreak so bad, then go develop one with your own exploits, plus jailbreak evasion doesn’t make jailbreak utilities so don’t rush someone that doesn’t even make them, he just delivers the news in a great video. You shouldn’t rush a jailbreak too, they want it to work perfectly, plus people could of stayed at 8.1.2 or below.

Semi-restore only works for iOS 5 to 8.1.2 You need OpenSSH on your device so it can only be done on jailbroken devices.
Redsn0w is very helpful to do this.
If you’re already beyond 8.1.2, you can’t.

Then change it, learn to code. You’ll need to learn Assembly and CoreFoundation, you’ll also need to be proficient in software security research. It’ll take you a few years of constant studying no doubt.
