Jailbreak iOS 8.2 Upon Its Release?

Up first, iOS 8.2, (originally reported by BGR last week) current rumors have pegged iOS 8.2’s release date sometime within the next week - while initial rumors firmly believed today would be 8.2’s release, we’ll add an extra seven days to predictions. The latter of the aforementioned firmwares are the most important to discuss, as some jailbreakers may be under the impression that it would be acceptable or possible to upgrade to 8.2 and retain their jailbreak, seeing as iOS 8.2 beta 2 and iOS 8.2 are similar; they’re not, at all!

A common misconception would be to assume that iOS 8.2 beta 2 and iOS 8.2 can both be jailbroken, unfortunately Apple closed the vulnerabilities TaiG utilizes in iOS 8.2 beta 3, rendering the utility unless on said beta and all subsequent releases, including the inevitable public version.

Although there are several methods to ensure that jailbreakers avoid updating, the best practice is also the most obvious: avoid blindly clicking pop-ups from iTunes when you plug your device into your computer, as it will always result in a prompt to update. Also, considering Apple blocks OTA (short for over-the-air) updates on jailbroken devices, that’s virtually the only way to mistakenly update to iOS 8.2 once the firmware is released.
