iOS 8.2 Jailbreak 8.1.3 Method Patched and iOS 8.2, Apple Watch Release Dates - While it’s only been a few short days since TaiG liberated the masses yet again with a clever iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak solution for those unfortunate iDevice owners who happened to be stuck on the firmware, Apple promptly ceased signing both iOS 8.2 beta 1 and beta 2 today. For some brief background, TaiG simply released an updated utility to both recognize, and function on the first two iOS 8.2 beta firmwares without using any additional exploits, as both iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2 were issued prior to the iOS 8.1.3 TaiG jailbreak-patching firmware’s release - i.e. Apple hadn’t readied the jailbreak patch at the time of said betas’ availability. In other words, in order to jailbreak post 8.1.3 one would have been required to update to iOS 8.2 beta and deliver the jailbreak earlier this week. Furthermore, while those still running iOS 8.1.2 or either an earlier iteration of iOS 8 or one of the first two iOS 8.2 beta IPSWs can still jailbreak, those on iOS 8.1.3 who didn’t jump the gun when TaiG version 1.3.0 was issued will effectively be locked out until a new jailbreak utility is released. Having said that, such a solution might become available for all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models (including the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and all other iOS 8-powered devices) sooner than most would predict! Like the article said, Apple stopped signing ios 8.2 beta 1 and 2. When they stop signing a certain iOS, that means that the update server won’t allow you to update to that version. That’s also why we can’t downgrade to 8.1.2.
I downloaded the the beta 8.2 ipsw (or whatever it is vers 1or2 can’t remember which) but haven’t had time to try the jb yet.. Was just about to attempt last night when I read about the patching… Is it not possible anymore if I have the file already downloaded but still on 8.1.3?

Well, read the article.. It says that Apple stopped signing iOS 8.2 beta 1 and beta 2 firmware. So yeah, there’s no way you can update it now, you would get error 3194 (which means the update authority is non-existent now).
If you’re still on iOS 8.1.3 then you have to wait for further update(s).

I downloaded and installed iOS 8.2 Beta 2 cause that was what was listed to match my phones serial #. It installed smooth with no glitches. But when I go into settings-general-then about it says that the version is 8.3 ???
Probably you downloaded the wrong one. It’s actually iOS 8.3 beta 2 because Apple stopped signing 8.2 beta 2 already.
