However, the aforementioned update isn’t an iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak, but rather something equally beneficial to those who either mistakenly updated to or who purchased their devices running the iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak-patching firmware: a jailbreak for iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2! The new update to the wonderful TaiG tool, dubbed TaiGJBreak 1.3.0 for iOS 8 through 8.2 beta 2, is capable of delivering a fluid Untethered jailbreak on 8.2 beta for all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models. Update To iOS 8.2 Beta To Jailbreak 8.1.3 iOS Devices

iOS 8.2 Jailbreak

Before rushing into the Untethered iOS 8.2 jailbreak portion of this tutorial, you’ll first need to update your device from iOS 8.1.3 (or whichever firmware it’s running, though it’s recommended that you follow this guide instead if you’re on iOS 8.1.2 or earlier) to iOS 8.2 beta 1 or beta 2.

Step 1. In addition to downloading the corresponding jailbreak utility for your computer, you’ll need to obtain either the correct iOS 8.2 beta 1 or beta 2 IPSW for your device.

Step 2. After having downloaded iOS 8.2 beta, plug your device into your computer via a standard lightning (or 30-pin if you own an older iPhone 4s or iPad 2) USB cable and launch iTunes.

Step 3. Navigate to the device portion of the program, hold the Shift key on your keyboard if you’re on Windows or the Alt key if you’re on Mac OS X, left click “Check for Update,” browse for your device’s proper iOS 8.2 beta IPSW and click through the prompts to update.

Allow the process to finish, uninterrupted, and only then can you proceed with the second set of steps outlined in today’s tutorial to jailbreak iOS 8.2 Untethered!

Step 1. After having downloaded the updated TaiG 1.3 (TaiGJBreak 1.3.0) tool or the PP for Mac utility, prepare to launch either of said tools.

Step 2. With your device still plugged in, verify that you’ve successfully disabled both Find my iDevice (it will either be dubbed ‘Find my iPhone’, ‘Find my iPod’ or ‘Find my iPad’ depending on your device) and Passcode, enter Airplane mode and open one of the aforementioned tools and uncheck the bottom box to ensure that you don’t install the bundled third-party Chinese distribution software.

Step 3. Click the large button in either TaiG 1.3.0 or PP (you may be required to continue past one more quick screen) to proceed with the jailbreak iOS 8.2 post 8.1.3 process.

Step 4. Leave your iPod touch, iPad or iPhone connected to your computer for the entire duration of the jailbreak procedure and refrain from interfacing with it in any capacity. Once the device you upgraded to iOS 8.2 reboots, you’ll be greeted with the both incredible and welcomed sight that is Cydia on your device’s homescreen (Cydia will usually appear on the second second page, provided you have room).

Important Final Step: Once the jailbreak has succeeded, exit Airplane mode, tap into Cydia, let the GUI (graphical user interface) tweak and third-party package platform reorganize the Filesystem on iOS 8.2. It’s crucial that you neither exit Cydia manually nor reboot your device, as either will result in a forced restore.

Congratulations, after having followed a set of easy instructions (totaling just seven easy-to-follow steps), you’ve successfully updated iOS 8.1.3 and jailbroken 8.2 beta on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running the beta firmware!
