UnTethered iOS 6 Jailbreak 6.1, 6.0.1 Update: Release Details And The Evad3rs - It’s safe to say that most of our readers on Evasi0n Jailbreak are eagerly awaiting an iOS 6 UnTethered 6.0.1 and 6.1 jailbreak for all iOS-based devices, including the latest iPhone 5 and 4th generation iPad. Luckily, today we have some thrilling news to share regarding the status of the upcoming UnTethered Jailbreak.
Evad3rs to Release iOS 6 UnTethered 6.1 Jailbreak
In a recent tweet, pod2g (an expert iOS hacker who’s contributed to the development of numerous untethered jailbreak utilities) announced that he’s a part of a newly-formed small group of iOS security experts.

MuscleNerd, planetbeing, pod2g and pimskeks will, from now on, be known as the evad3rs. The new four-man team has already claimed the evad3rs domain, which redirects to their @evad3rs Twitter handle. Without sending a single tweet , as of now, the group has accumulated upwards of 31,000 followers - no doubt due to word of mouth and pod2g’s tweet, which has reached hundreds of thousands of eager members of the jailbreaking community.
In a followup interview with iDigitalTimes, pod2g confirmed that they’ve successfully Jailbroken iOS 6 and even 6.1 beta 4, which was the latest beta at the time of the interview.
Additionally, pod2g revealed that two of the four evad3rs are considered “leading members” and surprisingly, he isn’t of them! In the interview, pod2g shared that he’s been mostly facilitating communications, working on websites and assisting in some development. However, planetbeing and pimskeks are the real driving-force behind the iOS 6 UnTethered jailbreak, as they’ve taken the liberty of handling most of the “heavy-lifting”.

Surprisingly, pod2g didn’t share the role MuscleNerd plays in the new team, bit it’s likely an important one, as he’s the unofficial leader of the iPhone Dev Team and one of the most well-known iOS hackers on the jailbreaking scene.
Furthermore, yesterday’s release of iOS 6.1 beta 5, which is actually releasable as the public version, will certainly hasten the development of a jailbreak utility. The evad3rs are, without a doubt, in the process of upgrading compatibility for the latest version of iOS. If everything goes according to plan, we should see an UnTethered jailbreak utility shortly after Apple releases iOS 6.1 to the public.
