How to Install iOS 8 beta 1

How To Install iOS 8 Beta 1 for Free Without UDID Being Registered, 8.0 Security Flaw - Today, following Apple’s exciting unveiling of iOS 8 during their WWDC 2014 keynote presentation, Apple officially seeded iOS 8 beta 1 to registered iOS Developers. In Apple’s latest beta firmware, iOS 8, the company has introduced a plethora of new and exciting features. Like with iOS 7.1.1, users who update to iOS 8 beta 1 from an earlier firmware will regrettably forgo their ability to jailbreak UnTethered. Deciding to downgrade from iOS 8, iDevices will be forced into iOS 7.1.1 (Apple’s current public firmware) and there currently isn’t a solution available to jailbreak 7.1.1 Untethered. In this informative tutorial, we’ll highlight an iTunes security flaw that enables devices running iOS 7.0.4 through 7.1.1 to update to iOS 8 beta 1 without having said devices’ UDID registered through a Developer account.

How to Install iOS 8 beta 1

    • Initiate a complete backup of your iPhone, iPad or iPod inside iTunes, update to iOS 7.1.1 and restore from the iTunes backup that was just created.
    • Confirm that your Mac or Windows-based PC has the latest version of iTunes installed - if not, take the time to update iTunes now. Inside the device portion of iTunes, hold either the option (alt) on OS X or the shift key on a Windows computer and left click the button to “Check for Update”.
    • Upon the emergence of a new pop-up that prompts the selection of an IPSW, browse for your iDevice’s corresponding iOS 8 beta 1 firmware file - again, for legal reasons, we cannot provide our readers with direct download links.
    • Once the iOS 8 beta firmware has been selected and the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch finishes the automated update process, follow the straightforward on-device setup process for iOS 8 beta 1.

  1. Bets on the official relapse of ios 8 for the next jailbreak evaders already said a few articles ago that was there goal and ionic is slow and lazy has his jailbreak and won’t release it we know that. Y now all we can do is wait for ios 8 thats the bottom line.

  2. As of 6/3/2014 12:30 am EDT Apple has closed this hole. They now test the udid for developer(paid) and refuse to activate.
Create working phone with dfu mode and restore 7.1.1 because you are stuck in limbo.

    1. Nope, that’s not true. Avoid iTunes and backup restores once on iOS 8 to circumvent Activation errors.

      1. I successfully upgrade yesterday but noticed that if I shut my phone off and turn it back on then I have to go through the initial set up again then followed by the activation error. ANYONE know a fix to this???

  3. This is why I hope you evad3rs make a 7.1.x JB at some point… i0n1c is not the most reliable individual, and my iPhone cannot downgrade OR upgrade. It is stonewalled at 7.1.1, as I had an issue that bricked my phone, and it had to restore to 7.1.1. I dont think I am the only one with that problem…

  4. People who have iPhones that are jail broke don’t update to the ios 8 or you will lose your jb. 2nd if you do this and if Apple stops signing 7.1.1 your stuck on iOS 8. 3rd the betas are only available for a certain amount of time so if you do update to iOS 8 and they stop the beta your on you will have to update again just to get your iPhone to work. So is it really worth having a highly buggy iOS on your phone and not have any apps that are updated for iOS 8. It’s point less unless your a developer that is trying to make your app compatible with iOS 8.

  5. If I go forth with this:
    1. Can I choose to downgrade to my current untethered jailbroken version of iOS 7.0.4.
    2. Be able to update to future iOS 8 betas in the future using this same method?

  6. I did it successfully. Turning the iPhone off and back on resulted in an Activation Error.
Don’t install this if you ever plan on turning your phone off or running out of battery.
    Register your UDID..

      1. Have you guys heard of a fix for this? I was really disappointed… I even restored and tried it again for several times, still same outcome.

  7. Odd…in the video you DON’T restore to the backup you just made, you set up as a new iDevice. In your instructions, you say to restore to the backup…Which one is it??

  8. i have iphone 3gs ios 4.0 and is jailbroken!! can it be upgraded to any other ios?? if yes then HOW??

    1. yes you can upgrade into last firmware version of that model i think 6.1.6.. search and download the ipsw for 6.1.6 then connect your iphone to itunes..

  9. there’s an issue doing this and it isn’t fully functional. I don’t recommend doing this because as soon as you update to iOS8 Beta for only developers. You will get a activation error in the introduction.

      1. Enter DFU mode (follow the guide in our iPhone 4 Jailbreak 7.1.1 tutorial) and follow this tutorial again - this time, you must click “check for update”.

        1. I did click on check for update (plus shift) and I got this activation error, now I just restored to 7.1.1…

          1. Just as Evasion had mentioned. DFU mode then click restore. Simple as that… BAAM back to 7.1.1

  10. If I install this am I going to be able to develop apps and test them without the upcoming jailbreak?

This sounds really nice, I hope I don’t brick my phone!
