If you happened to update to the version of iOS 7 that your device is currently running via Apple’s over-the-air (OTA) update feature, you must complete the restore tutorial before jailbreaking 7.0.4 or 7.0.6 UnTethered.
- Create a backup of your iDevice inside iTunes before jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Restore to Apple’s latest 7.0.6 firmware and continue.
Note: Wait to restore your personal data until the jailbreak is complete.
How To Use Evasi0n 7 to Jailbreak 7.0.4 - 7.0.6 UnTethered
Step 1: Download evasion 7 from our download page to ensure you have obtained an authentic version of the utility.
Step 2: Once evasi0n 7 has been downloaded in the program’s entirety, extract the contents using the same method you would for any compressed file (Mac users needn’t worry, as OS X will automatically mount the disk image or DMG). We advise placing the main program file on your desktop for ease of use.
Step 3: Run Evasi0n 7 on your computer and, to continue with the jailbreak process, connect your iOS 7 device to your computer via an official Apple USB cable (either a 30-pin or Apple’s Lightning Cable depending on your device).
Step 4: Inside the basic evasi0n7 window, as seen below, the option to “Jailbreak” will be clickable if your iOS-based device was connected successfully. To proceed, simply unlock your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and click “Jailbreak”.
Step 5: At this stage, the on-screen Evasion7 progress bar should display the active steps, it’s crucial that you refrain from interfacing with your device, as it may interfere with the jailbreak process.
Step 6: When prompted by evasion 7, unlock your device and tap the “evasi0n 7″ icon (it’s important that you only tap it once). Evasi0n7 will then require you to unlock your device shortly following a reboot.
Step 7: Once the final jailbreak process is complete and your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch has rebooted for the final time, you’ll be greeted with the familiar Cydia icon in what was once the same spot as the “evasi0n 7″ icon.

Ok i bought a iphone 5 and it was all ready running ios 7.0.6 and i tried to jailbreak on evasi0n 7 but it says modfying and shuts down so how do i tell if its ota updated and if that is what is causing it.
what I want to know is: I upgraded to 7.0.6 on both iPhone 5S and iPad Air I jail broken both with evasion 1.06, it seems like everything works fine but then I discovered that evasion came out with 1.07 jailbreak to fix some problem and now that iOS 7.1 is out I can’t restore so what do I do? leave it alone or rejailbrake on top of the old jailbreak???

i did all the steps to jailbreak my iphone 4 but at the last reboot after i clicked on the evasi0n 7 icon, on the evasi0n 7 program it says To continue, please unlock your device. So i did unlock my device and nothing more happen like its locked, what i gotta do ?

You updated using Apple’s OTA update. You’ll need to restore to 7.0.6. “Create a backup of your iDevice inside iTunes before jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Restore to Apple’s latest 7.0.6 firmware and continue.”

Just an FYI for all jail breakers, Springtomize3 for iOS 7 is now available in the cydia store for $2.99 new or 1.99 upgrade. I just installed it on my iPad and it looks pretty nice. I’m gonna need to get rid of a few tweaks now. This is definitely a great day!

hi ! i just jailbreak for the first time ( in ios 7 on iphone4S ) using 1.0.3 now the evasion icon came on phone and i proceed and phone rebooted,basically everthing happened and follwed the same way as instructions now windows evasion app say the phone is already jailbroken when i connect it to my computer, but when i try to install .IPA it fails moreover when i check the status of my phone with ifunbox its says its still JAILED …. any suggestions ? by the way i do see cydia icon on my phone and cydia stores works as well although did not installed anything from cydia !

Having issues with running evasi0n.exe In Windows 8 64 - I run as admin and the installer tells me I need to be running the app as admin (I have even changed the file permission etc - does not seem to make any difference). In windows vista (using Sun vbox) the installer works (yay) but gets to about a 3rd of the way through and just sits there. The process is not hung - I see the exe taking cycles but it just sits there (I have tried multiple times). I do not have any other machines available without Windows 8 (yeah I hate that part too). Any ideas on what the problem could be (I seem to recall evasi0n.exe app running fine in windows 8/64 before with ios6

Hello, I want to restore my iPad to iOS 7.0.4, so I’ve done a back up on my pc, I had certain apps which can hold media files such as videos app and Vlc with videos in it. I want to know what would happen if I change the directory of the videos I put in these apps , if I they will still be in my back up and I can have them in the respective apps after restoring from the back up As in maybe my videos were on desktop and I synchronized into Vic and the videos apps. I back up and the change the directory of the videos on desktop to say disk D: , I want to know if I restore from back up these videos will still be in the videos and vlc app. I will appreciate your help , thank you

hello there i try a lot of time to jailbreak my ipad 2 wifi ver. 7.0.4 and when the jailbreak process complete and evasion start reading the kernel when this done later on my ipad is just stuck on boot logo and restarting all the time and to make it start the only thing i can do is to restore it again using iTunes. why is not jailbreak my ipad and just start infinite boot loop???
Because it doesn’t work at all. They said so themselves since people wrote to them about it and they are working on having a better support for the iPad 2. When the update will happen? I have no idea but I hope soon.

restore ipad with itunes. first go into dfu mode. after connect your ipad to pc with itunes. restore thats simple.
I start the jailbreak process and it continues until it reaches configuring system 2/2 and it doesn’t go past that. I’ve waited about an hour and no success. What is causing this? I have iPhone 5s iOS 7.0.4.

Hi, I’m having a little problem with the program. When I try to run evasion7 I get this little pop-up window saying evasion7 has stopped working and all I can do is close it. I don’t have an internet connection on my pc and I’m also running windows 7. Any help, thanks

Evasion was released early and non of the theme creators have not had enough time to make them compatible yet. give it a few weeks and they should be some available. there is a few tweaks that are up and running on the iphone 5. hope this helps

the version 1.0.1 is unable to jailbreak at all. it just tell me failed to retrieve package info from internet. no matter what i have disabled (firewall etc) it’s not working.

I suggest before doing the jailbreak process. do this: 1 Go back up inside itunes 2/ restore to latest firmware using itunes 3 then jailbreak some users encounter this, but me. i just did the back up thing and did not restore. after i back up i did the jailbreak and its ok now.

For those whom are still looking for a fix for Safari Crash, Calculator Crash. I had stumbled upon the error, when you try to restore your phone from the previous version, the ios runs into some troubles, with old files, and goes a little weary … Anyway the solution is as simply as, enter your iPhone into the ITunes restore mode, restore it from iTunes, and set it up as a new iPhone, with your old account but, with no syncing from the old one. And you should be ok. I’ve deleted prior to this move, the settings for Safari, and cache and network settings, and and and.. but nothing worked. Once I’ve done this, I could’ve run Safari without a glitch AND EVEN JAILBROKEN FOR TESTING MY IPhone 4S and NO PROBLEMS AT ALL !!! All runs as smooth as a baby’s bottom
First off, many many thanks to the evaders team for coming up with the jailbreaking utility for iOS7.Now to my problem. . I used the evasi0n7 utility to jailbreak my iphone 4 on iOS 7.0.4. I followed all the steps as per instructed and all went well and I do have the cydia app on the screen. Now the issue is that when I try to install a cracked app (sygic navigation) on my iphone, it fails to install. The .ipa according to comments is indeed cracked and works on jailbroken iphones. . TO further test, I used CopyTrans Contacts software to see whether my iphone is jailbroken or not and according to the software, its not. So in short, I followed all the instructions and at the end I do have cydia on my home screen but a cracked ipa is not installing and according to CopyTrans Contacts my iphone is not jailbroken. Any suggestions what might be the issue? Thanks
Install appcake. it comes with appsync for IOS 7 The repo is cydia.iphonecake.com and search for appcake ( HD for tablets, although now it’s a uniform app I think )

For all those people who stuck in the apple logo. I had the same problem on my iphone 4.So what I did after the failed jailbreak attempt was to put my iphone in DFU mode,connect it to itunes and restore it to 7.0.4.after this procedure the jb tool works like a charm!!!

what happens when you try to restore it via itunes? do you get an error message?
i had to open itunes for it to work. on iphone4, i hold power button and home button for about 10 sec then screen goes dark, i reales power button but hold home button, USB icon comes up. keep holding home button then connect usb cable(dont forget to keep itunes open). when you connect usb, itunes should recognize. with everything, there is a risk. sorry you had a problem, but we all have them. they are doing their best. have a good one.

hey evasion love the jailbreak but ive got a problem and it was fine at first but everytime i try to update my cydia or downloadf tweaks it gives me this error message that says sub-process /user/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2) i have tried restoring many times but as soon as i get cydia and try to download tweaks or anything it pops up with this error message and quits downloading if you could please help i would be so thankful

okay, first of all before even doing this; REMOVE YOUR CODE BEFORE DOING THIS. and for the people who got stuck at the apple logo screen, go in DFU mode (Google it) and recover your idevice through itunes, now remove your code and redo the process. this did the trick for me and might work for you too! good luck jailbraking

Don’t call me a troll mate. I ran the jailbreak on all 3 devices I have and each one completed. Before I ran it I upgraded to the latest firmware.
My iPad 2 is on iOS 7.0.4 and I had to restore it about 5 times since it wouldn’t go through. I’m waiting for the next update they have since they said they will work on it soon.
We’ll I don’t know why my ipad2 worked. I presume it’s all done right. The jailbreak app completed saying it’s all done and Cydia etc is on there. I installed app sync etc but haven’t yet run any jail broken apps on it.
I believed some of us would have bought different iPad2 chipset. If you recall correctly, iPad2 was released twice. The evidence can be found in the IOS download. I think jail broken iPad2 were the later released, not the earlier generation. Hope the evad3rs team take note of this.

Hi I finished jailbreaking the device the evasi0n jailbreak wizard says it’s done but in my ipad 2 it says something that I don’t understand and then it says calculating then it reboots itself again and then the apple logo comes and goes away and comes again so I took my ipad 2 into rescue mode and restored it and then I tried jailbreaking again and the same thing happened again and I restored it again this is the 3rd time I restored it plz help me

Works great for me but…… I successfully jail broke my iphone and I used it well but the only thing REALLY annoyed me is that most of the useful and most popular and most used TWEAKS are not compatable with iOS 7!! Please update cydia!! Don’t leave jay freeman(saurik) in the dark!! Plus my phone unjailbroke because one of my fav game app disappeared and after a while I tried to restore my latest backup that I made b4 jailbroke my phone so I could get that app back coz it was not even downloading in the App Store aswell!!!?? So when it was restoring it went blank and like others said above That it kept rebooting so I RESTORED it???????? and now I am unjailbroken???? so I will wait until EVERYTHING IS updated especialy CYDIA Thank you anyway for ur hardwork though we appreciate????

Apple isn’t signing those versions anymore, there’s no way to get it unless you have the files for it which Apple doesn’t support anymore.

All I see is complaints. Complaints about a jb that works and is free. Have some respect for the hours and hours of coding and development that went into this, to have ppl complain. It doesn’t get better than this. Read the bloody tutorial, then read it again. If you think that this jb is just for free apps then it is not for you. It works perfectly on iPad 4th Gen Wifi! However, I did have to do the jailbreak twice. FIrst time it got stuck on APple Logo at the last reboot, I recovered to IOS 7.0.4 luckily I backed up!
Iphone 5. Stuck on 2/2 configuring system… Rebooted phone tried again about 5 times. No good. Then tried on my wife’s computer and it worked. Started evasion from rar without putting it on desktop. Some cracked apps don’t work. Tomtom and others even they should work with iOS 7. They are kind of dimmed. Not sure what to do about it. I need it as air. Something is wrong with this jailbreak.

2 things you can do! You can hold the power AND home button for 10 seconds then release the power button, but KEEP HOLDING the home button, when your still holding it, connect it to your computer and iTunes should pop-up with recovery message, restore it and you should get your iPad working again. If iTunes doesn’tpop-up manually open iTunes and restore. 2nd method is to search google or this site for redsn0w program, then find in all the options something that fixes the bootloop, fix bootloop and it should work.
Tried to install but gets stuck twice at around 33% at “configuring system(2/2) for over an hour. On 7.0.4 on iphone 4. Please advise? Itunes and IP are both updated. It worked on my iPhone 5 the only issue i’m having is not being able to install themes which I believe has to do with the fact that winter board isn’t compatible for iOS 7.0.4, so really my only question is anybody have any suggestions for a different system to install my themes?

Try restarting your computer, it worked for me on third attempt after restarting and removing icon off your iphone first.
Should I restart my phone as well? or can I just delte the icon and restart computer? this is my second attempt so hopefully itll work this time or next time.
here’s an idea; download the old redsnow and use use the special option to fix boot loop. I don’t have iPad so I can’t try but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work

Don’t upgrade your iPhone to iOS 7.0.4 just for the new jailbreak, there hardly aren’t any tweaks for iOS 7 yet and no your phone is unlocked at the carrier and doesn’t matter if your phone is jailbroken or not. I can jailbreak a million phone and not be able to unlock a single one because you have to go through the carrier.
I can’t install any app with appcake or Vshare… and winterboard don’t change my theme, i downloaded 3 different.. is normal? my phone is an iPhone 5s running ios 7.0.4… Any suggestion? Thanks a lot!
You have to wait for the app and tweak developers to recode and rebuild and sometimes build from scratch their apps and tweaks to support iOS 7 and if iOS 6 is any example we will be forced to repurchase all of the new iOS 7 updated apps that we purchased for iOS 6 and a few cost me more than $10 bucks. Just be patient. Can’t really do much for a while other than brag about your devices being jailbroken.

Then I followed the instructions posted in this thread to restore it but I got this message… “The iphone could not be restored. This device isn’t eligible for the requested build.” Tried again and got the same thing. Had to go to work and left my phone for a few hours. Came back and now its COMPLETELY dead. No charge sign. Nothing. No response at all. HELP!

To all who are stuck on Apple logo; This happened to me the first time I tries to jailbreak. This did NOT work on snow leopard but DID work freak on Lion. FYI! Works great but will take a while for my favorite tweaks to be supported under iOS 7.x.x Hope this helps! You did not brick your devices. DFU mode should get it back to iTunes ready.

JB worked like a gem (on windows), had some error on mac but all good. The only issue I have is that some tweaks I have downloaded are not showing up in the settings field (as you used to with older versions of ios, eg Mywi trial, Zeppelin, SbSettings), other than that, JB IS GREAT AND WORTH THE WAIT. THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK!!

Install MyWi off from Cydia and you can use your iPhone as WiFi hotspot to access the internet on iPad and other devices.

Okay… so I did a re-jailbreak. I got stuck when i had to click the Evasi0n logo on my iphone. Nothing happend. I closed the app, rebootet my phone and now it works. Very weird.

Pretty sure they determined the exploit to crack iOS7 was addressed by Apple in 7.1, making any jailbreak with the current method impossible.

Give it a break brother, as the JB is new, many servers are overloading. I had the same issue before, had a nap and when I woke up, all my apps were downloading and installing perfectly.

Was similar problem ,when i update my iPad2 to iOS7.04. Restart and just Apple logo was on the screen. And can’t restore after that.Tried few times.Found decision in the Apple support page.Just update iTunes to the last version and restore successful. Well i am so excited! I am on ios 5.1.1 and i have waited long time for this big day. Evaderz rocks indespite of what haters says on this post. This is hard work, completed. But i think i will still wait that they update cydia apps like Appsync so i can download my games via PP25. The idea is that everything is not resdy to go by now, as saurik waited for jailbreak 7 to be released before they stars upgrading anything. So, stay tuned.
Good news.. Wow, but I will wait on both phones… Cydia : the most tweaks are for iOS 5 and 6, I’m glad for that because the iOS is still work fine on iOS 6.1.2. The iPhone 5s .., I wait for jail break because 50% of the forum reaction here are negative … Cydia is not ready for iOS 7, for people as me that have not much experion with jailbreak, be carefully and follow the updates and reaction from the real jailbreakers.
When will untethered JB for 6.1.3 be released? I’m stuck in 5.x and iPhone 3G. Any leads?

Why is everyone so desperate to jailbreak their device when Cydia does not work properly, evasi0n themselves has said it doesn’t work properly. You can now get cracked apps on any version of ios without jaulbreak so again I say…. Why bother.

Don’t work with iPad 2 iOs 7.0.4., Win 8.1 x64. “Configuring system (2/2)” is more than 1 hour and iPad don’t reboot… I restored iPad wit iTunes to Apple’s latest 7.0.4 firmware 3 times, but Evasi0n don’t work again. Please, help!

Help! I successfully jailbreak it on my iPad mini ( firmware 7.0.4 ) but when Cydia tries to download something, either when I try to add a source or when it updates, it either say “POSIX: Connection refused” or “HTTP/ 1.1 404 Not Found” How do I fix this? Help me please. Thank you.

Just simply put your phone in recovery or DFU mode and restore your device. If you backed up your contents to iCloud or iTunes then you’re good to go
I JB my 5s, was fine, installed appsync 7+ and it crashed it. I thought i was done for. This is what you do. Turn off your device by holding the power button and home key until the device goes off. Plug the lightning cable into the computer only. then plug the cable into your phone and at the same time press the home key, it will force it into recovery mode. itunes will pop up and say your phone is found in recovery mode and needs to be restored. restore it from there. It worked for me. I am not messing with mine any more until some of the bugs and Cydia are worked out, hope this helps

They havent got the apps on Cydia updated to support IOS7 on the jailbreak, which is pretty stupid to why release the jailbreak and the apps and tweaks aren’t supported yet.

When it shows the evasion logo on my ipad 2 7.0.4 it goes to the apple logo and keeps restarting and ive done this a couple of times. What can I do?
Like in that video it shows with the evasion logo reading kernel and calculating offsets and then it restarts

This still will not work. No one can get ipad 2 working.
Same happens to me and I restore it 3 times already so I just gave up and put my back on the iPad again.

Ipad 2 16 gb wifi, full restore from 5,01 jb to 7.04 stock. Ran the program, stuck in boot loop. This is pretty bad. So many people having issues with this, id avoid for now.
Tried with iPad 2 and it got stuck at the very last step. The reboot screen is constantly cycling
Need to restore it and try again. I have the Ipad2 works fine now with Cydia.
And turn off the lock screen.

Guys to fix stuck on apple logo and can’t restore go to your iPhone connect it to the computer put it into recovery mode by pressing the power button for 5 seconds then without letting go of the power button hold the home button for 10 seconds.then realise the power button and continue to the hold the home button until iTunes says iPhone found in recovery mode then you can restore your phone and re try jail breaking

What most of us weren’t made clear of is that if you updated to 7.04 over the air, the jailbreak won’t work. If you didn’t backup before you jailbroke, you’re screwed. The correct procedure, which should have been put onto the main screen of the GUI is that if you did do the OTA update, you should have backup-ed your phone and did a full restore from that backup while connected by your iPhone cable.

Just to clarify: You backup your device through Itunes, and then you just use the recover function in Itunes and recover the backup you just backed up? Or do you have to find a “clean” restore.

If you happened to update to the version of iOS 7 that your device is currently running via Apple’s over-the-air (OTA) update feature… What does that sentence mean? Does it mean if you updated to 7.1?
