Evasi0n 6.1 Jailbreak Completion Time Hardcoded in Evad3rs’ Progress Bar
Evasi0n Jailbreak 6.1 Completion Time Hardcoded in Evad3rs’ Progress Bar - Following the evad3rs’ announcement regarding the upcoming release of their jailbreak ios 6.1 evasi0n utility, it was discovered that the dev team has hard coded the progress bar on their official site to reach 100 percent tomorrow at 9:00 am Pacific Time, 12:00 noon for EST. According to the calculations of a reddit reader, the Javascript is reportedly increasing the percentage by ~0.0091/minute.

What’s more, the progress bar appears to reference your browser’s timezone to determine and accurately display the current progress. Additionally, both Zairex and EvilPenguin have corroborated the original finding and have verified that the evasion progress bar will reach 100% by Noon Eastern Time.
It’s increasing at ~0.0091/min which would make the release Noon EST tomorrow. (You can see the exact value in the HTML code)
While we’re now aware of the completion time that’s hardcoded into the evad3rs’ site, it’s possible that the team may either finish earlier than expected or encounter issues, which would result in additional time to complete the development of the evasi0n jailbreak. At any rate in an earlier tweet, plantbeing confirmed that tomorrow is the “concrete” release date.
Yes, tomorrow is a concrete release date. It’s also the only release date we’ve ever given. 😛
