Apple Watch Jailbreak? We Need An iOS 8.2 Jailbreak Or 8.3 Jailbreak First!
Jailbreak Apple Watch: We Need an iOS 8.2 or 8.3 Jailbreak, Here’s Why - The jailbreak community has an exciting chapter ahead of it - in addition to expecting a new post 8.2 jailbreak utility, the highly-anticipated Apple Watch is slated for release later this month on April 24th, 2015. Beyond questions pertaining to a jailbreak for iOS 8.2, we wanted to address another topic that a number of our readers have pondered: the Apple Watch and whether the device will receive a jailbreak of its own. First however, for those of you who don’t know, the Apple Watch requires owning one of the following iPhone models on the public build of iOS 8.2 or later (iOS 8.3 beta 3 and beyond) - the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus. While the Apple Watch may function on other devices in light of a new iOS 8.2 and up jailbreak, we’re starting to get ahead of ourselves, one of the devices from the aforementioned list of iPhone models will be required for the device to fully function at launch - it will be available for pre-order later this week on Friday, April 10th. However, before we begin to contemplate the wonders of an Apple Watch jailbreak, we must first have one very crucial component or else such a feat won’t be possible: a new iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.2 Untethered jailbreak. TaiG Updates Site, iOS 8.2 Jailbreak For iOS 8.3 Slated And What To Expect
iOS 8.2 Jailbreak for iOS 8.3 Slated and TaiG Update’s The Team’s Site - While the public has yet to receive a new jailbreak solution for iOS 8.2, we’re continually bombarded with questions pertaining to whether users can jailbreak iOS 8.2 and, considering they can’t currently, when they can expect to. Unforunately, although nothing has changed on that front (the latest jailbreak 8.2 overview status can be found on our latest coverage), TaiG updated their site to reflect additional insight of MSS 2015 - the Mobile Security Summit the group hosted in Beijing that a number of key and influential jailbreakers both attended and spoke at. However, it might not be the update those seeking to jailbreak were hoping for. Instead of releasing a jailbreak for iOS 8.2 during MSS, TaiG opted to hold off, waiting for iOS 8.3 and releasing an official statement; though convoluted, it essentially confirms what we’ve stated on Evasi0n Jailbreak for the past three weeks. For more on jailbreaking, iOS 8.2, as well as TaiG’s latest site update, continue reading past the break. Read more

In the end, our predictions became reality - while the public didn’t receive a jailbreak for iOS 8.2, we instead have jailbreak developers more apt to tackle new firmware releases, such as iOS 8.3 and, by extension, 8.2. However, we now have additional word from the TaiG group that echoes what we’ve said concerning iOS 8.2 and its corresponding future jailbreak these past few weeks. Initially, we weren’t going to cover the topic - however, due to popular request, let’s delve into TaiG’s official comment. iOS 8.2 Jailbreak Released At MSS? TaiG To Jailbreak 8.3 And Why It’s Good!
Was an iOS 8.2 Jailbreak Released at MSS? TaiG to Target iOS 8.3 - Yesterday, on the 27th (or Thursday night depending on your timezone), MSS 2015 took place in Beijing, China; so what does it mean and was an iOS 8.2 jailbreak released? While our frequent readers will be familiar with the acronym, for those who aren’t, MSS is short for the Mobile Security Summit, which TaiG not only hosted but also presented at. Unsurprisingly, given the summit’s roster of jailbreakers, it was immediately assumed by a large number of individuals to be the unofficial confirmation of a new jailbreak for iOS 8.2 and its release. But did the group issue their new Untethered jailbreak? Recently we published an article highlighting the two routes TaiG could take when approaching the next jailbreak: they could either release the tool for iOS 8.2, or instead opt to wait and jailbreak iOS 8.3 which would effectively preserve the longevity of said tool. As expected, the vast majority of voters were in favor of the former of the two options, with 60% stating they wanted a jailbreak for iOS 8.2 now, while only 21% would be fine if TaiG took the smart approach (waiting to jailbreak 8.3), with 19% conveying that they were just happy a new jailbreak is on the horizon. So, with that in mind, what did TaiG ultimately decide to do? The answer to that question, and others, can be found after the break. Read more
Jailbreak iOS 8.2 Or An iOS 8.3 Jailbreak From TaiG?
TaiG to Jailbreak iOS 8.2 or iOS 8.3 Untethered? MSS 2015 - Today, as the jailbreak community roars with excitement in anticipation of a possible iOS 8.2 jailbreak release at MSS 2015 (the Mobile Security Summit), the staff at Evasi0n Jailbreak felt it would be a rather fun time to poll our readers as to what they feel the smart release strategy would be for the aforementioned jailbreak. While we’ve covered the topic of a new jailbreak for iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3, and in turn MSS, a number of times by this point some of our readers may be unaware of the Summit and/or its importance. In essence MSS is a conference that will be hosted later tonight at 6PM (Pacific time) by TaiG in Bejing China (it will commence at 10AM on the 27th, local time - they’re 15 hours ahead), which will consist of a series of keynote presentations from a number of influential players on the jailbreak scene throughout the years. Unsurprisingly, while it hasn’t been officially mentioned, the public mistakenly took the announcement of MSS 2015 to mean the unofficial confirmation, and release, of a new jailbreak utility (one intended to jailbreak iOS 8.2). However, unfortunately, no such release can be confirmed at this time, but should TaiG jailbreak 8.2 or instead wait for iOS 8.3’s release? Cast your votes after the break! Read more
Apple Releases iOS 8.3 Beta 4, New Jailbreak For 8.2 Or iOS 8.3 - MSS?
iOS 8.3 Beta 4 Released, New iOS 8.3 Jailbreak or 8.2 Jailbreak from MSS? - Today, as the public eagerly awaits the the next jailbreak utility, whether for iOS 8.2 or 8.3, nearly two weeks following the release of the third iOS 8.3 beta, Apple seeded the fourth beta iteration of iOS 8.3 to registered developers. Additionally, as with 8.3 beta 4’s predecessor, a new public beta build was made available to those enrolled in the company’s new public iOS beta program. Today’s iOS 8.3 beta 4 carries an incidental update in build number over its predecessor of 12F5061, versus 12F5047f, suggesting only minor changes since the last beta. As usual, today’s new beta is available for immediate download via either Apple’s development portal or as an OTA (over-the-air) update for devices already running either iOS 8.3 beta 1, beta 2 or beta 3 - alternatively, those who partake in the public beta program can find a download for the firmware through their corresponding portal. However, as with all past beta versions of iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.2 (betas 3 and up), as well as even iOS 8.1.3, the latest TaiG utility isn’t capable of delivering an iOS 8.3 jailbreak in its current state, but that could likely change very soon! iOS 8.2 Semi Jailbreak Works, Right? Wrong, Jailbreak Scams Identified!
Semi Jailbreak iOS 8.2 Works, Right? Nope, Jailbreak Scams Identified! - Today, as the public eagerly awaits MSS 2015 (the Mobile Security Summit), which will be held by TaiG on March 27th in Beijing, China, numerous rumors, speculation and pure conjecture pertaining to a new iOS 8.2 jailbreak have been cluttering the blogosphere. Numerous individuals, and sources, claim that TaiG will use the summit as a platform to launch the team’s next jailbreak utility, which will liberate those who have been locked out of jailbreaking since iOS 8.1.3’s release and, in turn, patch the last Untethered jailbreak tool. Furthermore, in the wake of the devastation iOS 8.1.3 left, at least in terms of its aforementioned patching of TaiG, numerous (successful) scams have come into fruition that attempt to trick helpless jailbreakers into believing they’re installing Cydia, and they often succeed. However, in reality, said users fall victim to the potential unsolicited collection of, and often times profit from, their personal data. While jailbreak scams are nothing new, as they tend to propagate following the patch of every significant jailbreak utility, they’ve evolved from blatantly obvious viruses that previously attempted to infect Windows-based PCs to what some would consider a very close lookalike to a mobile web-based Cydia, which again profit from the unknowing collection and selling of Big data (here’s the wiki on the concept). So what can you do to avoid falling victim to the jailbreak iOS 8.2 scams that now litter the web? Continue reading for the answer, as well as to discover whether a new jailbreak for iOS 8.2 exists! Jailbreak iOS 8.1.3 And iOS 8.2 TaiG, PP Mac And PC iOS 8.3 Guide [Updated]
Jailbreak iOS 8.2 Untethered Update; TaiG or Pangu, How to Jailbreak 8.2 and 8.3 Possibility - As we progress forward into 2015, a question that’s gnawing at the back of mind of the jailbreak world as a whole is whether there will be a solution to jailbreak iOS 8.2. In light of the fact that the iOS 8.1.2 Untethered TaiG and PP jailbreak utilities were officially patched by iOS 8.1.3, as well as iOS 8.2 for that matter, and that downgrades from either firmware to 8.1.2 are no longer possible (Apple closed the signing window for the jailbreakable firmware), we must turn our attention toward the future: iOS 8.2, iOS 8.3 and even iOS 8.4! Last year, with iOS 7 and even before that (the same applies to iOS 6 and iOS 5), Apple’s iOS releases didn’t surpass 7.1.x. Now, as the company’s line of products evolve, not only have we’ve reached iOS 8.2, but 8.3 is currently available in its third public developer beta stage and, as with several accurately predicted iterations of iOS 8 that preceded it, iOS 8.4 is rumored to make an appearance later this year. Having said that, what about jailbreaking for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and older iOS 8-capable devices? Will there be an iOS 8.2 jailbreak or even future utilities to jailbreak past the forthcoming firmware? For an in-depth examination of what the future holds in store for jailbreakers, as well as information on the latest major iOS 8 release, being iOS 8.2, jump past the break! Read more
There Isn’t An iOS 8.2 Jailbreak, Here’s Why: MSS 2015 - Release Timeframe
There Isn’t a Jailbreak for iOS 8.2, Here’s Why! - Today, as the world of Apple news begins to die down in aftermath of the awesome event that was last week’s Spring Forward conference, jailbreakers once again find themselves posed with the following question: “when can I jailbreak iOS 8.2?” While it’s undoubtedly a difficult one to answer, seeing as there are so many factors to take into consideration, we now have a rough idea of what to expect from TaiG and the other developers on the scene, namely Pangu. Following the patch of TaiG’s last tool with the release of iOS 8.1.3 and, in succession iOS 8.2, a vast majority of individuals intent on jailbreaking remain stuck on either of the two aforementioned jailbreak-patching firmwares, not to mention iOS 8.3 beta (which is an entirely different story). Furthermore, with the forthcoming Apple Watch’s iPhone pairing requirement, which in turn must be running iOS 8.2 with the new Apple Watch app to actually support said device, we’re faced with another problem: updating. Current iPhone jailbreakers keen on purchasing Apple’s new smart wearable will undeniably make the leap from the comfort of their ever-sweet jailbreak to the bitter vanilla iOS 8 build that is 8.2, which again is due to the fact that it remains unjailbroken. So, what’s next? Will we receive a solution to jailbreak 8.2 untethered prior to the launch of the Apple Watch to preserve the jailbreak for those who will inevitably update to support Apple’s hottest post-pc device? iOS 8.3 Beta 3 Released, Jailbreak For 8.2 Or 8.3? Important Update!
Apple Issues iOS 8.3 beta 3, Jailbreak for 8.2 or 8.3? Important Update! - Today, as the public eagerly awaits the release of the next utility capable of delivering a jailbreak for iOS 8.2, Apple seeded the third beta iteration of iOS 8.3, being 8.3 beta 3, to developers officially enrolled in the company’s iOS Developer program. As usual, Apple’s latest iOS 8.3 beta is available for instant download via either the customary iOS Developer Center on Apple’s development portal or as an OTA (short for over-the-air) update through the Settings app for developers with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models running either iOS 8.3 beta 1 or beta 2. Also, today’s beta carries a slightly revised build number over its predecessor of 12F5047f, compared to 12F5037c, suggesting minor revisions since the last beta update. Furthermore, exactly like how TaiG won’t jailbreak, or even function on, either iOS 8.2, iOS 8.2 beta 3 or higher or both previous iOS 8.3 beta versions, the tool (in its current state) will not support iOS 8.3, i.e. it cannot jailbreak 8.3 beta 3. For complete details on the new iOS 8.3 beta 3 firmware and iOS 8.2, including the next untethered jailbreak, continue reading. Read more
