Apple Prepares 7.1.2, Will An iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak 7.1.2 Solution Be Released?
Apple Prepares 7.1.2, Will an iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak 7.1.2 be Released? - Exactly one month ago, Apple released the dreaded iOS 7.1.1 update to the public and while its not possible for the public to jailbreak 7.1.1 UnTethered, hacker Stefan Esser (i0n1c) has teased an iOS 7.1.1 UnTethered jailbreak numerous times. Following every aforementioned “tease,” the majority of the jailbreak community became filled with excitement, only to be letdown in the days following, seeing as a utility to jailbreak 7.1.1 has yet to be released. Now however, Apple appears to be on the verge of releasing iOS 7.1.2 - according to MacRumors, the site has seen a surge in their weblogs of visits from iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models running iOS 7.1.2. That being said, will there be a solution to jailbreak 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 following the firmware’s release?
iOS 7.1.2 Changes And Modifications - Can I Jailbreak 7.1.2 (Upon Its Release)?
Before delving into the multifaceted answer to the above question, let’s quickly examine iOS 7.1.2. The firmware is said to be in the initial testing stages with Apple’s carrier partners, who were allegedly asked to “sign off” on the update by this coming Friday, June 27th.
As for updates, iOS 7.1.2 will more than likely provide a remedy for a now well-known email attachment encryption error and could solve the nuisance of numbers remaining associated with iMessage following users’ decisions to leave iOS for other mobile platforms. Beyond that, iOS 7.1.2 may solve a bug that affects iOS’ lockscreen and bring improvements to iBeacon connectivity.
Jailbreak 7.1.2 UnTethered - How Will The Firmware Affect Jailbreaking?
Now, on to jailbreaking and how the process may be affected by iOS 7.1.2. To preface, it’s crucial to mention that we’re writing this post under the assumption that our readers are familiar with the recent turn of events on the jailbreak scene, especially in relation to i0n1c - to get caught up, we advise reading through the articles found in our detailed jailbreak 7.1.1 archive.
As with both 7.1 and 7.1.1, iOS 7.1.2 will still feature the same patches to the evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 7.0 through 7.0.6. Nothing will change on that front and it will be impossible for the public to jailbreak 7.1.2, at least following the firmware’s release. While i0n1c did suggest that he’ll create another “proof of jailbreak” video to showcase his Cyberelevat0r jailbreak tool functioning on iOS 7.1.2, it’s impossible to say for certain if the hacker has any sort of plans for a release in mind.
Needless to say, if your iOS-based device is currently jailbroken on iOS 7.0 through 7.0.6, avoid updating like the plague. However, for those running either 7.1 or 7.1.1, while it’s unlikely that this firmware will impact your future ability to jailbreak, it’s good practice to avoid updating until speculation has solidified into certainty.

Excellent post. I will be dealing with a few of these issues as well..
Everyone needs to realize that ionic’s way to JB 7.1.1 is a completely different way than the evasion team will be using on the ios 8. Therefore, there WON’T be any wasted exploits! He might as well do his own thing with 7.1.1. IT WON’T CHANGE A THING FOR OTHER JB’S OTHERS design!
I’m not in any hurry I’m getting iOS 8. So I’ll just wait until then if you’re on a 4s or higher and you want a 7.1.1 untethered jailbreak keep waiting it ain’t happening iOS 8 isn’t gonna be much different from iOS 7 except for the new features
