New iPhone Security Flaw Discovered After Evasi0n Jailbreak Patched By 6.1.3 - Following Apple’s recent release of iOS 6.1.3, which unfortunately patches the UnTethered Evasion Jailbreak, an entirely new security flaw was discovered yesterday. As many of you may already know, we reported on Tuesday that Apple issued iOS 6.1.3 to address a passcode lockscreen security flaw, patch the untethered jailbreak and bring improvements to the Maps app for Japanese users.

The bug, which only affects the iPhone 4 and, according to iPhoneBlog.de, the iPhone 5 with Siri disabled, is directly linked to the iPhone’s pre-Siri Voice Control feature and allows access to both contacts and photos while bypassing the lockscreen

The passcode hack involves simply activating Voice Control at the lockscreen by holding the home button, saying the command “call 123″ and quickly ejecting the phone’s SIM card after it registers the command.

Upon a successful attempt, a possible intruder will instantly gain access to the iPhone’s call log. However, to completely use the Phone app and view the device’s camera roll, additional steps that we won’t detail in this article are required.

Ironically, after having just released an update intended to correct the major security threat that’s present in iOS 6.1, 6.1.1 and 6.1.2, Apple will likely release a new iOS 6 installment in the foreseeable future to correct the newly-discovered iOS 6.1.3 passcode flaw and protect their users’ privacy.
